Young people from ECRC have long enjoyed attending World Youth Day festivities, and they will be well represented at the next event.  Lisbon2023 is expected to follow the standard schedule of WYD events beginning with an Opening Ceremony & Mass on Tuesday, August 1st, and concluding with a Papal Mass on Sunday, August 6th. Throughout the week, pilgrims will have opportunities to attend Catechesis, Masses, and Youth Festival events from concerts and film festivals to Adoration and prayer nights. 

While faith is at the core of the event, participants will have a chance to sightsee, shop and mingle with millions of young people from around the globe.

For ECRC members, the adventure begins July 26 with an overnight flight from Detroit Metro Airport to Portugal. The group will spend time in Porto, Fatima, Santarem, and of course Lisbon before returning to Detroit on August 7.
