Young people from ECRC have long enjoyed attending World Youth Day festivities, and they will be well represented at this year’s event, which runs from July 23-28 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Of course, the highlights of the gathering will be Pope Francis’ delivering his welcoming address at a prayer service on July 25 and his celebration of a Papal Mass on July 28.
While faith is at the core of the event, participants will have a chance to sightsee, shop and mingle with millions of young people from around the globe.
For ECRC members, the adventure begins July 20 with an overnight flight from Detroit Metro Airport to South America. The group will spend time in Sao Paolo, Paraty and Rio before returning to Detroit on July 30.
